Begin your Family's Journey

This process is designed to make sure that Acton Academy Palatine is the right fit for your child and your family.

We recognize that we ask you to dedicate time and thought to the process. Families who are thriving in our community often share that they truly enjoyed the process, and we hope you do too.

Four simple steps to find out if we're the right fit.

We don't believe in a complicated admissions process. Most families know pretty quickly whether Acton feels right.

1

Schedule a call with Melissa

Tell us about your child: their strengths, their struggles, what lights them up. We'll be honest about whether Acton Palatine is a good fit for your family.

2

Come visit and observe

See a real day. Watch how Eagles work alongside each other, how Guides ask questions instead of giving answers, and how the community holds itself to high standards.

3

Shadow and Apply

We'll send you an application and invite your child to a Shadow Day.

4

Take the Leap

If everything feels right, we will invite you to join. Don't worry, we will walk you through everything before day one. You won't be doing this alone!

Five studios. Every Eagle finds exactly where they belong.

Studios are built around stages of independence, not just age. Your child will be placed where they'll grow the most.

Spark — Ages 5–7

Montessori roots. Wonder first. Our youngest students build foundational skills through hands-on materials, purposeful play, and the joy of discovery.

Curiosity — Ages 6–9

Questions before answers. Students build reading fluency, strengthen core skills, and begin setting their own learning goals. Competence makes Learners confident.

Discovery — Ages 9–12

Real projects. Real stakes. Eagles take greater ownership of their time, deepen core skills, and begin leading in the studio.

Pathfinders — Ages 12–14

Leadership earned, not given. High-level academic work, peer accountability, and the first taste of real-world apprenticeships.

Launchpad — Ages 14–18

Ready for what's next. Advanced academics, apprenticeships, and preparation for each Learner's Next Great Adventure beyond Acton.
